Roberto Chavez
Photography Dept. / Art Director / Educator
Roberto Chavez is an International Award Photographer who became interested in photography as a child, and obtained his bachelors in photography from the prestigious Art Center College of Design and a M.A.Ed. -Higher Education from Ashford University in San Diego, CA.
His style and accurate eye for composition has taken him to many places, from publications to editorials and international venues such as Fine Art galleries, in which his work is exhibited on a regular basis especially in Germany, London, Spain, the Netherlands and Paris, France where he also happens to have a residence.
He has inspired new generations of artists and photographers by giving lectures at different schools and universities such as Rio Hondo College, Art Institute of Orange County, Cypress College, and the Cardinal Computer Academy at Whittier High School of which he is a mentor for many students.
In his community, he has been appointed to be part of the City of Whittier Cultural Arts Commission. He is also part of the Whittier Historical Society, and the City of Whittier Cultural Arts Foundation, Hillcrest Festival of Fine Arts just to mention a few.
For the past decade, he successfully has been named the Chairman of the reknown Hillcrest Festival of the Fine Arts in the City of La Habra, CA. He is also a Core Member for the Art Society of Long Beach, CA as well as an active member of the French Association of Photography in Paris, France and the American Photographic Artists -Los Angeles Chapter, just to name a few.
